“When a nation is forced to take up arms to defend the homeland’s sacred sovereignty, the right to life, and the pursuit of happiness, it will surely win, and that is the victory of justice,” Thi Hien said on Wednesday at the commemoration of the 62nd anniversary of the first defeat of US imperialism in Latin America.
The official stated that Vietnam and Cuba have been together in difficult times, and the traditional solidarity, support, and comprehensive fraternal cooperation between the two peoples are expanding in many sectors.
Cuban Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Ariadne Feo Labrada stressed that “we will work together to further strengthen and expand the fraternal relations between Cuba and Vietnam in all spheres, such as culture, healthcare, solidarity, and trade, and to continue to supporting each other.”
The diplomat referred to Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero’s visit in October 2022, which was a milestone in strengthening bilateral relations.
The meeting highlighted the heroism and revolutionary conviction of the Cuban people in the face of aggression and the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, who personally led the final battle at the head of a tank column and troops who heroically resisted the mercenary invasion.
