In a letter sent to Prensa Latina on World Al-Quds Day on Wednesday, the diplomat warned that the countries that uphold peace should not remain impassive in the face of Tel Aviv’s attacks.
“Given the catastrophic situation Palestine is going through, freedom-loving people in the world must not remain silent in light of the oppression and repression the people of this land are subjected to,” he stressed.
Hadi Sobhani noted the historic significance of this date, established by Imam Khomeini in August 1979 in solidarity with the Palestinian cause and celebrated every year on the last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
The movement was founded to fight “the global arrogance led by the United States and the Apartheid regime of Israel,” the diplomat said.
