Turkish minister accuses the West of pressuring before the elections

Ankara, Apr 19 (Prensa Latina) Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu today accused Western countries of pressuring his country before the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

The elections to be held in Turkey on May 14 will completely change its history, which provokes increasing pressure from the United States and Europe, he said.

This is not the election of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, but of the country’s future generations, its complete independence, Soylu told TV100 television channel.

Washington constantly loses its authority and the whole world hates it, while Europe as such does not exist, it is just a part of the American convoy, without any special features, he considered.

European leaders are constantly discredited, the continent’s population is getting older, they are experiencing and will continue to experience difficulties in economic development.

Europe has become North America’s pawn in Africa, and all African countries hate the states that exploit them, he argued.

In Türkiye, on the eve of the elections, increasingly harsh statements are being heard against the West with accusations of interference in the election campaign.

Recently, the Turkish leader said he would no longer receive the U.S. ambassador to Ankara, Jeff Flake, after his meeting with the opposition presidential candidate, Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
