According to the military spokesman, units of the Airborne Troops blocked the city from the outskirts to the north and south, while the operational-tactical aviation of the Army and the artillery of the group of South troops supported the actions of the assault units.

In addition, Konashenkov added that attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artiomovsk and several towns in the Donetsk People’s Republic to counterattack Russian assault units were thwarted.

“In the Stupochka and Krasnoye areas of Donetsk, as well as in the north-western and central parts of the city of Artyomovsk, attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to counterattack the assault units also failed.

In the area of the town of Krasnogorovka, also in Donetsk, an ammunition depot of the 68th Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Army was destroyed, the military spokesman said.

Konashenkov pointed out that in the Donetsk region alone, during the last day the enemy lost 380 soldiers, one tank, two infantry vehicles, five armored combat vehicles, eight cars, one Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer, one D-20 howitzer, as well as a Grad multiple rocket launcher.
