China protests against Japan over G7’s remarks

Beijing, Apr 19 (Prensa Latina) China on Wednesday protested against Japan's representatives following the statements made by the G7 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Japan.

Liu Jinsong, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, convened diplomats of the Embassy in Tokyo and expressed his dissatisfaction with the questioning of the bloc.

Liu also regretted that the joint statement of the ministerial meeting referred to the alleged militarization over the South China Sea, accused this country of threatening stability in the Taiwan Strait, and cited concerns over the situation in Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong.

Consisting of Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, and Italy, the G7 foreign ministers met in Karuizawa from Sunday to Tuesday to agree on increasing sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine conflict.
