According to the ministry, a search and attack group composed by the Gromkiy corvette and three anti-submarine ships of the Pacific Fleet carried out missile launches and artillery fire in the Sea of Japan.
A Ka-27M anti-submarine helicopter took off from the corvette and conveyed targeting information to two anti-submarine vessels, which proceeded to drop depth charges. The corvette also used a torpedo from the Paket-NK anti-submarine system to destroy a submersible simulated enemy.
The group launched missiles and conducted artillery fire at sea- and airborne targets. Anti-submarine ships launched Osa missiles. Gromkiy fired its A-190 Arsenal 100-millimeter and AK-630 30-millimeter rapid-fire artillery systems.
Two Tu-95MS strategic bombers made a scheduled flight over the Bering and Okhotsk seas as part of an operational readiness check.
The Ministry stated that the crews of the missile carriers would also continue air patrols in other areas. While conducting patrols, the bombers were refueled mid-flight by an Il-78 tanker plane.
