Cuba reports seven new Covid-19 cases, no deaths

Havana, Apr 18 (Prensa Latina) At the end of Monday, Cuba reported seven new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of contagions to 1,113,033 since the first case was detected in the country in March 2020, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported on Tuesday.

The latest report from MINSAP noted that 226 samples were tested to detect new cases, totaling 14,343,370 samples for control and surveillance during the said period.

At present, 102 patients are hospitalized, 48 are suspected cases and 54 are confirmed active patients, including one patient who is in critical condition in intensive care. The rest have a stable clinical evolution. No deaths have been reported recently.

The data corroborate that Cuba maintains a favorable epidemiological situation due to the strict sanitary control and the administration of 43,954,925 doses of Cuba’s Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala homegrown vaccines until April 16.
