The fresh outbreak was reported in backyard poultry in the town of Juan Soler, department of San José, north of Uruguay´s capital.
According to the source, 110 sick hens were culled.
This is the ninth bird flu outbreak in the South American nation, the second reported one in San José.
The San José authorities informed they were calm since respective protocols were rolled out.
MGAP specialists are currently conducting various controls to confirm there are no other affected bird in nearby areas.
