According to lab results, 99% of those mpox-infected patients are men and only one woman, while the average age is 33, Health Ministry reported.
The areas with highest incidence are the Central Metropolitan Area (60%) and Asunción (39%), while there is only one confirmed case in Presidente Hayes.
The 72 mpox cases reported this year were detected in January-March period, according to the Health Surveillance Directorate.
Among main symptoms found were skin lesions (including genitalia), muscle pain, decay, fever, headache and swollen glands.
