Cuban Antonio Maceo and Manuel “Piti” Fajardo medical brigades serving in the southern region of Belize held a scientific conference in commemoration of both historic events, according to the diplomatic mission.
Cuba´s health collaborators submitted about 15 papers (13 out of these in free modality and two posters) related to major diseases found among Belizean population.
The conference was presided over by the Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology Dr. Lois Zabaneh, and Sports and Youth Minister Rodwell Ferguson; Mayor of the city Robert Mariano; and the Cuban ambassador María Caridad Balaguer Labrada.
