The Director General of the Ethiopian Information Network Security Administration, Solomon Soka, said at the event that Ethiopia, in addition to taking advantage of the good opportunities offered by cyberspace, uses its potentialities to reduce cyber attacks that may arise in connection with its use.

Solomon highlighted the need for countries to work on the protection of cyber sovereignty and to verify and adjust the dependence on that technology.

In his opinion, underdeveloped nations relying on developing ones, generate digital sovereignty risks. This is the reason why everyone must provide themselves with their own resources, with cutting edge technology in order to reduce the threat.

Due to the limitless nature of cyberspace, countries should work on formulating common standards, policies and cooperation frameworks to use cyberspace safely, he concluded.

The forum lasted two days under the motto “Russia-Africa: digital technologies as the Engine of state development and international cooperation”.
