“I will join this important meeting for a Cuba without violence against women. Much has been done by the Revolution on this issue and much battle is still to be fought. We are all invited,” the president wrote on his Twitter account.
He also detailed that he is in this central territory as part of the visit of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its auxiliary structure.
On the same social network, the general secretary of the Federation of Cuban Women, Teresa Amarelle, thanked Diaz-Canel’s participation. She also expressed that with his reflections and the voices of women from that region of the country, a process of debate in the communities on gender violence will begin in the nation.
