In another message, he recalled the popular saying “Every 11 follows his 13” and highlighted how the Venezuelan people took to the streets and reversed the coup that sought to put an end to the constitutional government on April 2002.
Following the same issue, the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, stressed that the Bolivarian people gave a lesson to imperialism and made the whole of Our America proud by defeating the vile coup d’état.
“Today Venezuela continues to make history, resisting and overcoming adversities” the foreign Cuban minister added.

The leadership of the business community and the private media, in complicity with sectors of the opposition and the ecclesiastical hierarchy, plotted with elements of the Army to overthrow the president and place Pedro Carmona in the “de facto” presidency.
Hugo Chavez remained kidnapped by the conspiring forces until his rescue on April 13 by military officers loyal to the constitutional order, who put an end to the coup d’état, with the support of a popular insurrection in the streets that took place at the time.
