The members of the Commission are summoned in person for this Monday afternoon and, according to the call, they will announce the evidence they will request to continue with the process.
Last Friday, the Legislative Administration Council (CAL) issued a resolution in which it demanded that the Commission avoid delays in the processing of the impeachment trial against the president.
The members of CAL called the attention of the president of the parliamentary committee, Fernando Villavicencio, who must apply directly and without delay the regulations corresponding to the impeachment of a president of the Republic.
Assemblyman Darwin Pereira, member of CAL, pointed out that Villavicencio acts in a biased way in favor of Lasso, accused of embezzlement for alleged irregularities in contracts of the public company Flota Petrolera Ecuatoriana.
In accordance with the terms established in the Law of the Legislative Function, the Commission must have a report ready on the subject in a maximum of 30 days, divided into several phases.
For the time being, the schedule grants until April 16th for Lasso and his defense to present the exculpatory evidence.
