The ship’s batch includes 228 prefabricated dwellings (weighing 420 tons) to be sent to to people in Latakia, province most damaged by past February 6´s life-threatening quakes, the member of Executive Office for Health and Civil Defense Affairs Muafak Al-Soufi stated, while revealing this is the first ship and others will arrive in coming weeks.
The prefabricated houses will be handed over to the Syrian Red Crescent organization, whose volunteers will install them in several areas in the province, the member of the executive directorate for industry and internal trade sector Mualla Ibrahim explained.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Red Crescent launched past Thursday a new project to build 1,000 temporary prefabricated houses in seven areas, while the Iraqi Relief Body continues to build about 500 houses in Yebrin, in the northern province of Aleppo.
