Angola reviews cooperation with Brazil and Cuba

Luanda, Apr 8 (Prensa Latina) The Angolan Government reviewed bilateral cooperation relations with Brazil and Cuba at meetings in Brasilia and Havana during the week that ended on Saturday.

As the Foreign Ministry confirmed in this capital, the 7th Angola-Brazil Joint Commission was the scenario to sign seven legal instruments and two minutes, so as to boost diversified and beneficial strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides penned an Intergovernmental Agreement to Prevent Double Taxation on Profits from International Air and Maritime Transportation and six Memorandums of Understanding.

The agreements link the respective Ministries of Health Care, the Barra do Dande Development Company, the Superintendency of the Manaus Free Zone, and the National Institute for Research and Prevention of Traffic Accidents with their Brazilian counterparts.

On a separate issue, under the title “Angola and Cuba Open a New Cycle of Bilateral Cooperation,” the ANGOP news agency reported that the two States updated sectoral agreements and memorandums of understanding within the framework of the 15th Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.

The news agency reported that two new memorandums of understanding deal about higher education, science, technology and innovation, and youth and sports.

The minister of State and head of the President’s Civil House, Adão de Almeida, led the Angolan delegation, while Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas headed the Cuban group.
