Viant was referring to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Raul Roa Garcia Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI) in Havana and the Institute of Foreign Relations of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
The document was penned on Wednesday by the diplomat herself on behalf of the ISRI rector, and by the general director of the Lao institution, Mai Sayavong, in presence of Deputy Foreign Minister Thongphane Savannphet.
Under the agreement, the two educational institutions will exchange information and experiences on academic courses, human resource development for the sector, research on emerging issues, and other matters of mutual interest.
The signing of the memorandum was widely reported on local media, which highlighted the ongoing development of relations between Cuba and Laos, established 49 years ago, the Cuban ambassador commented.
They also noted the regular exchanges of visits at all levels and bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, public health, education, information and sports.
