Israeli aircraft hit Gaza, militias fire rockets

Ramallah, Apr 5 (Prensa Latina) Israeli fighter jets struck the Gaza Strip on Wednesday after rockets were fired from there, amid rising tensions over the police assault on the Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem.

The Army’s press release stated that the aircraft struck two suspected weapons manufacturing and storage sites belonging to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which controls the coastal enclave.

According to the text, the attack responded to a stream of rockets fired from the Strip against Israeli territory early Wednesday.

Following the incident, far-right Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir warned that “heads will roll in Gaza.

The al-Nasser Salah al-Deen Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, claimed responsibility for the rocket fire, saying the action was in response to the Israeli police raid on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third holiest site for Muslims.
