Due to its success in Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) already ranks third all-time, behind Avatar (2009) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), not to mention the fourth place of Titanic, also by Cameron, making three of his films reign supreme in box office takings.

The visual effects of the latest installment of Avatar continue to win praise worldwide, and the on-screen result of the technology used to show the underwater world has been described as visual magnificence and waves of emotions in 3D.

According to specialized media, Cameron has three more Avatar movies scheduled, and the Disney production company plans them for 2024, 2026 and 2028.

In addition, the most recent programming of Cubacine, attached to the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), also contemplated the exhibition of other films recently awarded with the Oscar in the 95th edition.

The main award-winning feature films were screened for a week at Havana’s Chaplin movie theater.

Cuban audiences could watch They Are Talking, Oscar winner for Best Original Screenplay, as well as The Whale, which won an Oscar in the Best Actor category, granted to Brendan Fraser.

Other Oscar-award winning films screened in Cuba were Germany’s No News from the Front, which won Best International Film, and Everything Everywhere at Once, this year’s winner of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ top awards, with seven prizes.
