“To continue defending anti-imperialist, justice, solidarity and independence ideas, as the Cuban youth do nowadays, is the best way to pay tribute to our martyrs,” the foreign minister live-tweeted.
On April 4, 1972, the terror attack that destroyed the Cuban Trade Office in Montreal, Canada, caused the death of young Sergio Pérez Castillo, and seven other people were injured.
The Joven Cuba terrorist organizations and the Directorio Revolucionario Estudiantil claimed responsibility for placing the explosive device.
According to historical documents, the attack was carried out by Juan Felipe de la Cruz, who died months later in a hotel in Paris, France, after he was preparing a bomb to be exploded at the Cuban Embassy in Montreal.
