The issue was discussed at a meeting between Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren and Argentinian Ambassador to Santiago Rafael Bielsa, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Argentinian-Chilean Friendship Day has been celebrated in both countries since 2005, with several cultural events during the first week of April.
The date commemorates the historic embrace of Liberators Jose de San Martin and Bernardo O’Higgins after the triumph at the Battle of Maipu in 1818, which secured Chile’s independence.
President Fernandez will be received by his Chilean counterpart, Gabriel Boric, with whom he will review several issues on the bilateral agenda.
