The tribute, to be held at the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi Convent in Old Havana on Saturday, April 1, will recall the work done by Rojas, who was also a pianist (March 24, 1903-November 1, 1996), and lived from her childhood until she died in Havana.
Liana Fernández, Ernesto Oliva, the Chamber Exaudi group, and the Havana Polyphonic Choir will perform at the event.
Graduated from the National Conservatory directed by Hubert de Blanck and several advanced training courses in the Department of Music at Columbia University in the United States, Rojas gave recitals in several Cuban cities and other nations.
She has also shown her versatility in performing the works by foreign composers, including Sergei Rachmaninov, Frederic Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Cesar Franck, as well as those of Cuban Ernesto Lecuona, among others.
