According to the Cuban Parliament on Twitter, Matvienko and Lazo held a telephone conversation, during which they agreed to continue to deepen the excellent inter-parliamentary relations.
Cuba held the national elections on Sunday, when all 470 lawmakers in the National Assembly were elected, with a high rate of popular participation.
National Electoral Council (CNE) President Alina Balseiro said that of the total ballots cast, 90.28 percent were valid, 6.22 were blank, and 3.50 were annulled.
The Cuban electoral process will conclude on April 19 with the constitution of the Parliament, the election of its leadership, the Council of State, and the president and vice president of the Republic.
