President of Bolivia will participate in Iberoamerican Summit

Luis-Arce-6
La Paz, Mar 24 (Prensa Latina) The President of Bolivia Luis Arce departed for the Dominican Republic to participate in the 28th Iberoamerican Summit of Heads of State and Government, an official source announced.

The Deputy Minister of Communication, Gabriela Alcón, stated during a press conference that the President will speak at the Summit on Saturday.

The Foreign Ministry said that Bolivia is promoting the approval of five special communiqués in the context of the Summit on food security, human rights, indigenous languages, the coca, and the International Year of the Camelids.

Deputy Foreign Minister Freddy Mamani stressed the importance of the proposals in statements to Bolivian TV, “because the Iberoamerican space has as its mission the cooperation between member states”.

He announced that a meeting of Foreign Ministers will take place while the Summit itself will be on Saturday and in which President Arce will participate; it is also expected that a resolution on the critical inclusive and sustainable food security roadmap will be taken, so as to guarantee the rights to all.

The Iberoamerican Environmental Charter will also be approved, which will reflect the vision shared by the community on global challenges of climate change and guaranteeing sustainable development and respect for nature, in addition to the Iberoamerican Charter of Principles and Rights of Digital Environments, which promotes exercising fundamental rights and responsibilities in the construction of inclusive, fair, equitable, and egalitarian digital societies, among other challenges.
