On Twitter, the Cuban leader who is currently visiting Dominican Republic to attend the 28th Ibero-American Summit sent his best wishes “to the Islamic world in these days of love, family, peace and harmony; dates in which along with faith, pure and virtuous feelings are professed”.
Díaz-Canel thanked the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen for the interview recently conducted by its Director-General Ghassan Ben Jeddou.
The Cuban president reiterated his gratitude to the channel, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and for being the voice of the Arab peoples and the global south.
During Ramadan, fasting is among five objectives of the Islamic religion.
