Yailín Castro, an officer of the General Direction of Multilateral Affairs and International Rights of the Foreign Ministry of Cuba, expressed on the Presidency´s site, that her country has an active role in some of the programs, initiatives and projects assigned to cooperation.
Previously to the Summit, which will take place on Friday and Saturday in Dominican Republic, Castro said that Cuba expects the traditional rejection to the US blockade and also to the inclusion of Cuba in the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
She stated that her delegation will work so that the Summit becomes a space that allows advancing effectively into a fair, inclusive and sustainable Iberoamerica.
Cuba will contribute however possible to the success of the Summit in order to reach a more inclusive cooperation, beneficial for the participating nations in the Conference, and in particular, the developing ones.
She stressed that Cuba has played an active role during the working sessions so that the documents that will be approved during the event, recognize the need to strengthen cooperation in order to mitigate the effects of climate change, diminish digital gaps and increase national capabilities so as to guarantee food security and sovereignty.
She also stated that Cuba will continue promoting a new world order, more inclusive, democratic and fair, in addition to continuing working for a reform of the international financial architecture, and to eliminate, once and for all, the topic of the external debt.
