According to what was published officially, Lukashenko congratulated Raisi on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The dispatch also specifies that economic issues and sustainable development were the focus of the negotiations, held in the context of the official visit of the Belarusian president to Iran, during the 12th and the 13th of March.
The President of Iran, in turn, stated in a congratulatory message addressed to Lukashenko that the legal bases for cooperation and the development of relations in the future have been created in the 30 years that have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
“Our countries also actively cooperate in international organizations, making great efforts in guarantying multilateralism, the rule of law, justice and to counter bias illegal actions,” the congratulation message says.
The Iranian president expressed his hope that the experience gathered in the past 30 years of cooperation and the use of existing opportunities, will contribute to further development of bilateral relations.
It was previously reported that in 2022, trade between Belarus and Iran exceeded 100 million dollars, or almost tripled compared to 2021. Belarusian exports to Iran increased almost six-fold, reaching 81.3 million dollars.
