“Ukraine is again trying to open our frontline, resulting in significant losses in soldiers and armaments,” Rogov stated.
RIA Novosti stated that on Wednesday, Russian troops destroyed eight pieces of military equipment and killed 40 members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Kiev also failed during a combat reconnaissance helped by armored vehicles in the Pohovsky district of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Rogov also commented that since mid-February, the authorities registered the construction of fortified areas and the concentration of enemy troops near borders with Russia.
According to the official, the Ukrainian military command plans to reach the Sea of Azov and cut off the land corridor to the Crimean peninsula.
The Zaporizhzhia region became part of the Russian Federation following a referendum held in September 2022. The Ukrainian government does not recognize its results and continues shelling the territory.
