According to the survey, 65.8 percent of Ecuadorian citizens support early elections in the Andean country, while 66 percent expect the National Assembly (parliament) to dismiss the president. The study detailed that only 26 percent of the people were against.
Likewise, the pollster determined that 82.7 percent of Ecuadorians have a bad or very bad image of President Lasso.
Lasso is getting closer and closer to face an impeachment trial after the disclosure of new audios and documents confirming his cover-up of corruption and drug trafficking investigations.
Assemblywoman Viviana Veloz, from the Union for Hope (UNES) party, informed that they have already finished drafting the document to request the impeachment of the president and among the arguments is his inaction against the illicit acts of which he was aware.
Meanwhile, Ecuadorians continue to wait for the official presentation of the request for the procedure, which requires several steps before being voted in the plenary, including the analysis of the Constitutional Court.
