Firefighters and volunteers are looking for possible survivors of the fires of the day before in the Sutatausa mines in the central region of Cundinamarca, which President Gustavo Petro described as ‘a regrettable tragedy’.

Groups of rescuers and other emergency care units ‘are making every effort to recover the trapped miners alive’, added the governor on his Twitter account.
