The head of State wrote on his Twitter account that “Cuban diplomacy, made of pride and prestige, can achieve a better 2023.”
Diaz-Canel assessed the island’s diplomatic work in 2022 as a learning period, with challenging issues that forced to work altogether, also marked by essential achievements that place this country’s name higher,” the Presidency tweeted.
On Tuesday, the president met with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take stock of the results achieved in 2022, in which he highlighted Cuba’s diplomatic role during more than six decades of hard struggle for the Revolution.
About the issue, the head of State described Cuba’s foreign policy as effective, rigorous, committed, prestigious, ethical, and a world benchmark, and called for the increase of work in the economic field achieved in political relations, using innovative proposals to attain that goal.
He also urged to foster solidarity, the trait that distinguishes Cuba at the international arena and consolidate links with people globally who have defended this country as their own.
The president denounced that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the United States showed its perversity, arrogance, and cruelty by denying Cuba access to medicines, vaccines, oxygen, and lung ventilators.
Diaz-Canel also stressed that the fallacy of sonic attacks against US diplomats in Havana was demolished in the last few days, to which contributed the work done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in conjunction with other international organizations.
