At the opening an international forum among political organizations, President and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Xi Jinping noted that any progress program should include the construction of a better planet for the future generations.
The head of State called for respect for each nation’s right to explore its path toward modernization without abandoning global cooperation and solidarity to ensure equitable access to growth opportunities.
The president referred to China’s goal of becoming a modern socialist State by mid-century and the CPC’s commitment to strengthening exchanges with other parties to establish a new model of international relations.
Xi commented that along with this process, China would open its markets, offer better domestic products, contribute with its solutions to reducing the North-South gap, and seek to speed up the construction of its Belt and Road Initiative.
He denied Beijing’s colonizing, expansionist, or hegemonic pretensions, vindicated negotiations in case of disputes, and rejected cold war or confrontational attitudes under democracy.
Xi also proposed defending common values such as peace, justice, and tolerance among different civilizations.
