Russia detected U.S. drone crashed into Black Sea

Moscow, Mar 14 (Prensa Latina) Russian Aerospace Forces control teams detected a U.S. MQ-9 drone close to the Crimean peninsula, which crashed into the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry informed on Tuesday.

According to the Defense Ministry,the U.S. drone breached Russia´s airspace limits, established by the special military operation in Ukraine, and was flying over with its signals turned off heading Russia’s borders.

Russian Defense Ministry also reported that the MQ-9 drone lost control and crashed into the Black Sea given a sudden maneuver, while the Russian SU-27 fighter jets did not use any weapons or interact with it.

U.S. Defense Department spokesman Patrick River admitted the MQ-9 drone intercepted over the Black Sea was on a reconnaissance mission and that the Pentagon did not directly contact Russian authorities about the incident.
