During a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Norberto Escalona, the Emirati executive referred to his recent tour of Latin America, which included Cuba, and expressed his satisfaction with its results.
He ratified his interest in continuing to work to disseminate more news and information about Cuba, as well as maintaining the bilateral exchange of delegations and participation in events in the respective countries.
Jalal Al Rayssi invited Cuba to attend the Global Media Congress again in November 2023, for which the diplomat was grateful and confirmed the willingness to implement the agreements reached in Havana with Cuban news agencies and promote interrelations with other UAE media outlets.
Escalona, who was accompanied by the Embassy’s second secretary, Ailyn Martinez, visited the WAM headquarters, where he was welcomed by workers and toured the facilities of the nation’s main information institution.
On his recent visit to Havana, the director and the delegation that accompanied him visited the Prensa Latina news agency, where he met with its president, Luis Enrique Gonzalez, and both parties discussed the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
Jalal Al Rayssi highlighted the excellent relations that exist between the two news agencies and the willingness to work together on various projects, complement each other, share experiences and content, and take advantage of their potential for mutual benefit.
