On Twitter, the Cuban leader posted: “We hope that during coming cycle, which we are honored to host in Havana, progress will continue to be made for peace in Colombia.

Likewise, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on Twitter expressed his deep satisfaction by stating: “We note as important progress the Mexico Agreement: New Agenda for Peace Dialogues between the Government of Colombia and the ELN”, while adding: “we welcome its signature by the Parties and the definition of preliminary aspects to address the Ceasefire and Participation in next cycle to be held in Cuba”.

The so-called “Mexico Agreement” sets out an innovative road map and establishes a shared vision of the peace sought-after by both sides.

With this agenda, both sides are seeking to establish an inclusive, participatory and transformative national agreement.
