In his speech from La Moneda Palace, the Chilean leader admitted difficulties the legislative decision implies to advance towards a fairer country and less unequal.

The initiative foresaw increased income taxes, making those who earn more pay more and applying new rules against tax evasion and avoidance.

“I will continue insisting that Chile really needs to distribute wealth much better”, said the President, while recalling the significance of supporting small and medium-sized companies, pensioners and women.
