During a meeting with acting Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Wronecka also stressed the importance of implementing essential reforms in the country, the fulfilment of constitutional requirements, especially the appointment of the new head of State and the municipal elections in May.
The parties discussed at the Grand Serail, the Government Palace, the preparations for the report to be submitted to the UN Security Council during the March 16th. session.
Earlier, on her Twitter account, Wronecka called on the state institutions to respond to the Lebanese issues and for greater responsibility of the political leaders due to the worsening of the crisis in the country.
In talks with the nation’s authorities, the UN official stressed that appointing the President of the Republic is a solution to the growing and legitimate difficulties of Lebanese citizens.
Since September 29, the Parliament has been trying to elect a new president, and its failure for the 11th time confirms the absence of consensus among the political forces.
