The Security Council has adopted several resolutions on the Palestinian issue in the past, but never approved one based on Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter, the official said.

The section defines the Council’s powers in the face of threats to peace and authorizes it to apply military measures in response.

Aboul-Gheit pointed out that the Security Council has the authority to establish a joint force in order to protect Palestinians from Israeli attacks.

The Secretary General of the Arab League announced that the Palestinian leadership will participate in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council in the coming months to achieve this goal.

According to official data, since the beginning of this year alone, the Israeli militaries and settlers have murdered 77 Palestinians, including 13 minors and one woman.
