According to the data of the General Administration of Customs, the operations in this sector represented more than 895 billion dollars, since exports fell 6.8% and imports 10.2%.
The commercial terrain of China shows a downward trend since the last quarter of 2022; its weak behavior influenced the expansion of only three percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and ended with a year-on-year rise of just 7.7 percent, compared to 21.4% in 2021.
However, China reactivated production at an accelerated pace after dismantling its Covid-19 mechanisms, normalized international cargo transportation and put into effect measures to revive and provide the economy with resilience infront of uncertainties generated by the pandemic and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
China is expecting a 5 percent GDP boom this year, one of the lowest targets in the last decade, but in line with its plans to guarantee economic stability in the midst of internal and external challenges.
