According to Blaszczak, he agreed with his German Defense counterpart, he would be responsible for creating a coalition of countries having Leopard 2A4 and 2A6 tanks to ship to Ukraine this week, of which Poland will deliver 14, which is in addition to the 250 T-72 armored vehicles already sent to Kyiv since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation.
The Polish Defense Minister confirmed this new package in statements to the media before leaving for a meeting with his EU counterparts. He also acknowledged the low availability of spare parts for Leopard tanks
Russia, on the other hand, assessed arms shipments from the U.S. and several European countries, including tanks, to Ukraine as direct involvement in the conflict and added that such actions only increase the situation and push peace talks further away.
