Speaking at the 5th Conference of Least Developed Countries, being held in Doha, Qatar, the Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Rania al-Mashat, warned about the situation in the region.
She stressed the importance of the UN and its agencies to collaborate with the poorest states to address their challenges and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
Addressing economic, social and environmental problems and relying on regional and international partnerships is a necessity to find sustainable solutions to the crises in our countries, she stressed.
Al-Mashat highlighted the negative impact of climate change and natural disasters, which she considered serious threats to humanity.
About this issue, she mentioned the agreements reached during the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held last November in Egypt.
