Guo Weimin, a spokesperson for the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, told reporters that it would be one of the leading issues on the agenda, apart from discussing the report about the body’s management and pending issues to optimize its work.
During the gathering, the advisors will discuss and vote on the draft of an amendment to its constitutive document and a political resolution.
They will also examine the delegates’ proposals for solving the country’s economic and social problems, such as challenges resulting from the low birth rate and an aging population.
The Conference consists of more than 2,000 government officials, entrepreneurs, military personnel, activists from different parties, professionals, workers, peasants, representatives of ethnic minorities, religious groups, and the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao.
