Monkeypox cases in Panama have risen to 167

Panama City, Mar 2 (Prensa Latina) With seven new cases reported in the last epidemiological week, the number of contagions with monkeypox, a name the World Health Organization gave to that disease, raised to 167 in Panama.

According to health authorities, 35 patients of those contagions are active cases, 27 are in home isolation, and eight remain hospitalized. The remaining have completed their treatment.

So far, 165 men and two women between 19 and 59 years of age have tested positive for this virus.

The Ministry of Health stated that 77 monkeypox cases were reported this year.

The health institution called on the population to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid contact with people infected with the virus.
