Al Suwaidi expressed his satisfaction with this progress and reaffirmed his deep interest in continuing to work on new cooperation programs with Cuba.
In 2019, Cuba’s Energy and Mines Ministry -alongside ADFD and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)- opened a 10 MW solar photovoltaic project in Cuba.
This plan contributes to the Cuban government’s national goals of reducing the use of fossil fuels for electricity generation and increasing renewable energy to 24% by 2030.
