“The terrorist acts of the Israeli settlers against defenseless Palestinian citizens are systematic acts in the West Bank”, the institution denounced and criticized the fact that the attacks with firearms, burning down houses and vehicles, expulsions of farmers, murders and other crimes are common issues in the territory.
The Arab parliament urged the international community and especially the UN Security Council to adopt measures to protect the Palestinian people and put an end to “the repeated and continuous attacks perpetrated by the settlers.”
This week the Arab League called for the inclusion of settler militias in the list of terrorist groups.
The death of two Israelis at the hands of a Palestinian served as a pretext for dozens of Jewish extremists who assaulted Hawara and other neighboring towns this weekend, which sparked numerous international protests.
According to Ghassan Daghlas, who oversees settlement activities in the northern West Bank, at least 15 vehicles and 30 houses were set on fire in the village, meanwhile the Palestinian Red Crescent reported over a hundred injured and one fatality during the wave of violence.
