Al-Assad made the remarks during his reception in Damascus for the presidents of the Parliaments of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Palestine, Libya, Iraq, and Egypt, and parliamentary representatives from Oman and Lebanon, among other Arab nations.

This delegations’ visit to Syria means a lot to this country and is an indicator of the support of their Arab brothers in these difficult circumstances due to the war and the earthquakes, the president said.

He added that this initiative confirms that the Arab institutions could take proposals and act for the benefit of the people.

According to President Al-Assad, the strength of the institutions representing the people reflected the different spectrums and segments of the society, an opportunity to accumulate points for a joint Arab action.
