During a meeting with Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Nicola Beer, Shtayyeh denounced the growing tension in the area,the construction and expansion of Jewish colonies in the Wst Bank, extrajudicial executions as well as assaults on the holy sites, due to the policies of the far-right government of Tel Aviv.
Shtayyeh explained to the visitor the new crimes committed by occupation forces, two days ago, in the city of Nablus, where 11 Palestinians died and over a hundred were injured during an assault of Israeli soldiers.
The head of government urged the European Union to take serious measures to pressure Israel into complying with international standards and make it stop its systematic violations. He also called on the bloc to recognize the State of Palestine, as many countries have already done.
