The official rejected the questioning the United States and its satellites made to that principle on February 20 during a so-called United Nations Security Council open meeting.
With great displeasure, we strongly protest and condemn that effort to violate the legitimate right to self-defense by a sovereign State, said the communiqué, fully quoted by KCNA, the country’s state-run news agency.
The press release added that if the Security UN Council intends to preserve peace and security on the Korean peninsula, it should condemn the United States and South Korea’s actions that aggravate tensions, including the introduction of strategic weapons and the frequent and large-scale joint military exercises aimed at the DPRK.
The United States should bear in mind that if it maintains its hostile and provocative behavior despite our repeated protests and warnings, it could be a declaration of war against our State, the statement stressed.
