Matanzas, Cuba, Feb 24 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban province of Matanzas has 32 candidates for deputies to the National Assembly (Parliament), among them Daylin Alfonso, who highlights unity as a key element to solve the current problems affecting the country.

Alfonso, candidate for deputy to the 10th Legislature of the Cuban Parliament representing the municipality of Matanzas, said exclusively to Prensa Latina that in the middle of such difficult scenarios for the country in the face of the intensification of the blockade and economic complexities, unity becomes today more than ever a weapon for defending what the revolution has achieved.

Being close to the people represents a premise that each organization applies from their scenarios, people see in these agencies the way to solve problems and from my role I have the commitment, the duty and the desire to contribute to solve them, she said.

The newly elected president of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power said that during recent talks in different provincial agencies and enterprises, problems are perceived, most of which are solved through united work and added that the people trust their representatives.

Alfonso also served as head of the political group of the Peñas Altas Popular Council during the struggle against Covid-19.

“From 2021, I started as an ideological officer of the provincial committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), an organization that I have been a member of since 2005, and since then the responsibilities have increased but being a candidate becomes a major challenge that demands more from me as a leader and as a person,” she said.

At 42 years old, Alfonso said that the support provided to young people becomes an important element in order not to lose the imprint of the parliament in the new generations.

A graduate of History and Marxism-Leninism, Alfonso emphasized that times are adverse but the country is capable of coming out of the crisis with effort and dedication.

She commented that the possibility of being a member of Parliament shows the recognition of a life devoted to work both at the Young Communist League and the PCC “always with the aim of being useful to Cuban society.”

Daylin Alfonso is one of the 470 candidates for delegates in the country, who since February 6 have been talking with organizations, communities, social and educational centers and the people in general about the challenges, challenges and projections of today’s Cuba in order to work for the welfare of the nation.
