Cultural, academic, and sports exchanges have been traditional between the two countries and have prospered since the restoration of diplomatic relations.
The closure of practically all services at the US Embassy in Cuba, under the pretext of alleged sonic attacks that could not be proven, has limited the flow of those mutually beneficial encounters by transferring the procedures to third countries.
